Using the AddThis.com Social Network Widget

In this tutorial, we'll create a text-promo for displaying the social networking links from AddThis.com.

  TIP: Start by opening a new tab and visiting AddThis.com (http://www.addthis.com).  This is where we'll get the code for our promo!

Once you are ready to go, just follow the steps below to get the AddThis.com links on your site:

  1. Log in to SWEB and create a new Promo Ad ('Create > Content > Promo Ad').
  2. Enter the name for your promo and set the type selector to "TEXT"
  3. Move to the HTML editor window and select the code view (select the <> button in the bottom left of the editor).
  4. Switch over to the AddThis.com window.
  5. Select 'Website' for the SERVICE options on AddThis.com
  6. Complete the balance of the options as desired and generate the code
  7. Simply copy and paste the code from the AddThis.com output window into the SWEB HTML editor and publish your promo.
  8. When done, place the new promo on your site - the LEFT and RIGHT columns work great for this.

Don't forget to publish your page after placing the promo on it!
