8.7 : Promo/Ad
Promos are graphics, text or flash movies that “promote” content. They live in the left-hand column below the vertical navigation, or in the right-hand column on the home page or 3-column inner pages.
Often SEIU International syndicates promos that promote union news, events, or opportunities.
Promo Size Guidelines
Promos in the left-hand or right-hand columns should be
- 150 pixels wide or less
- 70-90 pixels high (height is variable)
Promos for the billboard area should be images or flash movies that are
570 px wide x 244 px high to span the entire area.
To add a Promo:
1. Enter a title.
2. Choose a type:
- Image only
- Text
- Flash
3. Enter a URL if you want the image or Flash to be linked.
4. Enter an alt tag, which is displayed instead of an image when screen readers are used, or if a user is viewing the page with images turned off.
5. Check 'Open URL in new window' if you want a new browser window to open when the site visitor clicks the image or Flash.
6. Set syndication parameters (under the syndication tab).
7. Publish if you want the promo to be available to place on a page. Otherwise, save to come back and continue working later.
